HR Manager – Tanzania

About the role

FINCA Impact Finance is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead the human resources function for its Tanzanian subsidiary. Reporting directly to the CEO, the role will shape and execute HR strategy, ensuring the organization attracts, develops and retains talent while complying with local regulations and FINCA standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR policies, procedures and strategic plans aligned with FINCA Impact Finance standards.
• Oversee end‑to‑end recruitment, selection and onboarding processes.
• Design and deliver training and development programmes to build staff capacity.
• Manage performance appraisal cycles, compensation and rewards systems.
• Facilitate conflict resolution and act as employee advocate.
• Ensure compliance with Tanzanian labour laws and internal governance.
• Lead change initiatives, drive cultural transformation and promote a collaborative work environment.
• Partner with senior leadership as a strategic HR advisor.

Required profile

• Proven senior HR leadership experience, preferably in microfinance or similar development sector.
• Strong track record in strategy development, change management and staff development.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Commitment to FINCA’s values of transparency, accountability and inclusivity.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Tanzanian labour legislation and HR best practices.
• Experience with HR policy design and implementation.
• Proficiency in HR metrics and performance management tools.
