HR Generalist

About the role

The HR Generalist will support the Human Resources department by handling a variety of personnel‑related duties. This role ensures HR operations run smoothly, delivering maximum value to the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in recruitment, job postings, resume screening, interviewing and managing the hiring process.
• Facilitate onboarding to ensure a smooth transition for new employees.
• Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, address grievances and support conflict resolution.
• Support managers with performance‑related issues, disciplinary actions and performance review administration.
• Assist in compensation and benefits administration, including health insurance, retirement plans and payroll support.
• Maintain compliance with local employment laws, keep accurate employee records and prepare audit reports.
• Coordinate training programs, identify needs and work with department heads to implement development plans.
• Help develop, implement and enforce HR policies and procedures.
• Occasional in‑country travel to farms and hatcheries on a monthly basis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2‑3 years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices and employment laws.
• Fluent in English and Swahili.
• Master’s degree in HR or experience in a multinational company is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with HRIS systems (preferred).
