Housekeeping Lead

About the role

Our client, a well‑established hotel in Dar es Salaam, is looking for a proactive Housekeeping Lead to manage daily cleaning operations, maintain high hygiene standards, and ensure guest satisfaction. The role combines hands‑on housekeeping work with team leadership and close coordination with the Front Office and Maintenance departments.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and schedule room attendants and housekeeping staff according to occupancy, arrivals and departures.
• Inspect guest rooms, corridors, public areas and back‑of‑house spaces to guarantee compliance with quality standards.
• Monitor room turnaround times, ensure rooms are cleaned, inspected and released within set timelines.
• Maintain accurate room status in the OPERA PMS and communicate updates to the Front Office.
• Identify, report and follow up on maintenance issues; verify repairs before closing tickets.
• Support Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) activities and keep records of recurring issues.

Required profile

• Hands‑on hospitality professional with several years of housekeeping experience.
• Highly organised, detail‑oriented and able to work efficiently on the floor.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train staff.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities with Front Office and Maintenance teams.
• Commitment to delivering a superior guest experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency in OPERA PMS.
