Head of Finance

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Head of Finance to join our team in Dar Es Salaam. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will coordinate the provision of effective financial support services and ensure compliance with legislation and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit the region’s annual budget for Head Office approval, ensuring adherence to defined guidelines.
• Monitor expenditure against approved budgets and enforce budgetary control procedures.
• Produce accurate monthly forecasts and implement proactive measures to avoid undesirable outcomes.
• Process decentralized accounting transactions in the ERP system with complete supporting documentation.
• Manage regional Accounts Receivable, applying credit control measures to maximise cash flow.
• Analyse monthly accounts, compare actual performance to budget, identify trends and variances, and provide management information to the Managing Director.
• Implement cost‑saving initiatives and coordinate litigation, insurance and other claims.
• Lead and assess performance of subordinate staff, drive skills development and career planning.
• Participate in safety planning, forums and incident reporting to ensure health, safety and compliance.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax and regulatory obligations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management or Accounting; postgraduate degree advantageous.
• Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent professional accounting certification.
• Minimum 5 years senior management experience in accounting or finance.
• Knowledge of local tax law and company law; familiarity with security industry legislation is a plus.
