Grants Officer (Contingent upon Donor Approval of the Award)

About the role

The Grants Officer will oversee and manage sub‑grants for Jhpiego’s Tanzania program, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and internal policies. The role involves advising program staff, supporting sub‑grantees, and conducting field visits for compliance verification.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Director of Finance and program managers to select sub‑grantees, prepare Requests for Application, and assess proposals.
• Review and approve consortium partners’ invoices, maintain invoice tracking and sub‑award tracking systems.
• Conduct pre‑award assessments, budget analysis, and risk profiling of prospective sub‑grantees.
• Provide technical assistance on Jhpiego grant policies, donor regulations, and procurement procedures.
• Monitor monthly invoice reports, financial status, and progress narratives from sub‑grantees.
• Consolidate financial feedback, assess implementation of recommendations, and monitor expenditures against budgets.

Required profile

• Experience in grants management, finance, or related fields.
• Knowledge of donor regulations and grant compliance requirements.
• Ability to travel to field sites for compliance visits.
• Strong analytical and risk‑assessment capabilities.
