Graduate Engineer, UG Mine Planning

About the role

This 3‑year Graduate Engineer programme offers hands‑on experience in underground mine planning at the Geita Gold Mine in Tanzania. You will rotate through various technical teams, gaining exposure to data analysis, mine design, and equipment operations while being supported by mentors and supervisors.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyse production, ore quality and equipment performance data.
• Support senior engineers in developing mine layouts, stope plans and scheduling.
• Participate in fieldwork, site visits and inspections to understand daily mining operations and safety protocols.
• Assist with geotechnical assessments to evaluate ground stability and identify hazards.
• Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, project documentation and regular progress updates.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to learn equipment reliability and troubleshooting.

Required profile

• Recent graduate in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong interest in underground mine planning and geotechnical assessment.
• Willingness to work onsite in a mining environment and travel to field sites.
• Ability to work under supervision, follow safety protocols and meet project deadlines.
