Finance Manager – Full-time in Tanzania

About the role

Educate! is looking for an enthusiastic, systems‑oriented Finance Manager to lead its finance function in Tanzania. This full‑time role will oversee financial controls, reporting, and budgeting while supporting programme implementation across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day leadership of the finance function, ensuring effective implementation of financial controls, policies, and procedures.
• Manage, coach, and develop a finance team of three, including a Finance Coordinator and Finance Officer.
• Act as a finance business partner to Implementation, Operations, and Budget Managers, offering timely guidance for programme planning.
• Ensure compliance with Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), NGO regulations, and statutory financial requirements.
• Prepare and analyse monthly financial and management reports, including income statements, balance sheets, forecasts, and cash flows.
• Oversee payroll, accounts payable, revenue, expenses, fixed assets, cash management, bank reconciliations, and month‑end closing procedures using QuickBooks.
• Coordinate the preparation of audited financial statements and tax returns.
• Collaborate with budget managers to produce and explain Budget vs. Actual reports and provide training on financial discipline.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Commerce.
• Member of CPA (T) in good standing with the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA).
• 3 to 5 years of finance and accounting experience, including audit and analysis.
• Strong analytical, ethical, and systems‑oriented mindset.
