Deputy Representative Operations (P-5) – Fixed-Term – Dar es Salaam

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Deputy Representative Operations (P‑5) on a fixed‑term basis to support the Head of Office in Dar‑es‑Salaam, Tanzania. The incumbent will lead operational functions, ensure effective service delivery and act as Officer in Charge when required.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic operational leadership and support to the Head of Office.
• Act as Officer in Charge in the Head’s absence, overseeing office management.
• Manage core operational services including budgeting, financial management, procurement, logistics and human resources support.
• Drive change, deliver results and contribute to programme and management decisions.
• Conduct risk‑informed, solution‑focused analysis and provide advice to senior management.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior operational management within international organisations.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex budgets.
• Strong analytical and decision‑making skills with a results‑oriented approach.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
