Data Analytics Specialist

About the role

Palmpay, a fast‑growing Pan‑African fintech, is looking for a proactive Data Analytics Specialist to turn large data sets into actionable business insights. The role blends technical expertise with business acumen, supporting decision‑making across marketing, finance and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, clean and validate data from multiple sources and maintain database integrity.
• Perform statistical analysis, predictive modelling and trend forecasting.
• Develop interactive dashboards, reports and visualisations using Power BI, Tableau or Excel.
• Translate complex data findings into clear insights for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify data needs and recommend improvements for efficiency, customer experience and profitability.
• Apply machine‑learning techniques where appropriate and conduct forecasting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics or a related field.
• 2–5 years of data analysis experience in the fintech or banking sector.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python or R.
• Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI or Qlik.
• Solid understanding of statistical methods and data modelling.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and presentation skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Analytical thinking, attention to detail and a strategic business mindset.
• Ability to work collaboratively and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
