Credit and Collections Manager – Tanzania

About the role

The Credit and Collections Manager will provide day‑to‑day financial oversight of credit and collection processes supporting JTI’s nationwide sales operations across 16 branches in Tanzania. Reporting to the Finance Director, the role ensures compliance with company policies, manages the Order‑to‑Cash (O2C) cycle, and minimizes risk exposure through effective controls and timely issue escalation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee customer master data, due‑diligence, KYC certification, account setup and changes, ensuring accurate records and proper credit risk assessment.
• Manage credit limits in line with approved policies, obtain required approvals, and produce KPI and management reports.
• Monitor collections, receivables aging, overdue escalations, route settlements and reconciliations; coordinate with Legal and external debt collectors when needed.
• Optimize TME system controls, use analytics and AI tools to detect anomalies, improve controls and automate reporting.
• Maintain and communicate credit and branch accounting policies, execute O2C JSOX controls and establish governance and escalation protocols.
• Lead, develop and motivate direct and indirect teams, promote segregation of duties and collaboration across branches, GBS and HQ, with travel to branch locations as required.

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related field.
• CPA qualification highly desirable.
• Minimum 5 years experience in FMCG and/or banking in a managerial role.
• Proven experience leading and developing large teams.
• Fluent in English and Swahili.
• High integrity, strong compliance mindset and willingness to challenge the status quo.
• Strong drive for organizational change and continuous improvement.
