Cluster WASH Specialist

About the role

The Cluster WASH Specialist will support World Vision’s water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) programmes in Tanzania, ensuring compliance with international standards and donor regulations while delivering high‑quality technical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Support WASH project teams in meeting all standards and donor requirements.
• Develop technical programme designs, national WASH strategies and detailed implementation plans.
• Prepare annual work plans, procurement plans and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) aligned with national and international standards.
• Provide technical guidance, supervision and quality assurance throughout project lifecycles, from feasibility to hand‑over.
• Conduct water supply inspections, water quality monitoring and advise on tariffs.
• Monitor project progress, produce timely reports and capture lessons learned.
• Coordinate with local contractors on solar electrification systems and oversee contract execution.
• Lead monitoring, evaluation and knowledge‑management activities for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in designing, planning and implementing WASH projects.
• Strong understanding of international WASH standards, donor regulations and national policies.
• Ability to supervise field activities, ensure quality compliance and manage contracts.
• Experience in monitoring, evaluation and reporting of development programmes.
