Cargo Controller – Ports & Terminals

About the role
The Cargo Controller ensures the efficient, accurate and timely movement and storage of containers within a terminal. Working closely with shipping lines, logistics partners and terminal teams, the role guarantees that cargo flows align with schedules and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain up‑to‑date manifest and BAPLIE data in the Zodiac system.
- Validate import BAPLIE against manifests and master bills of lading.
- Update proof of delivery (POD) for each vessel visit.
- Notify customers of place‑of‑delivery amendments and overstayed cargo.
- Submit loading and discharge reports in TANCIS for every vessel.
- Coordinate short‑landed/over‑landed containers and obtain TANCIS approvals.
- Ensure transit codes, loading results and yard stock reports are accurate and shared.
- Communicate high‑risk or dangerous cargo handling to yard and vessel planners.
- Collaborate with Customs, DPW customer service, equipment control and yard planners for container verification.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Shipping & Port Management, Maritime Studies or Supply Chain Management.
- 3‑5 years of experience in container terminal operations.
- Strong analytical and decision‑making abilities.
- Goal‑oriented and able to work under tight schedules.
Required skills
- Proficiency with the TANCIS portal.
- Experience using container terminal operating systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
