Business Development Specialist

About the role

Visual Solutions Studio Limited (VSS) is seeking a full‑time Business Development Specialist to work on‑site in Dar es Salaam. The role focuses on expanding the company’s media production, event‑technology and creative services portfolio by identifying new opportunities and nurturing client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Research target markets, industries, competitors and upcoming events to uncover business opportunities.
• Generate, qualify and follow up on sales leads, maintaining an organized pipeline.
• Build and sustain relationships with prospective and existing clients.
• Prepare customised proposals, capability presentations, quotations and sales pitches.
• Collaborate with creative and technical teams to design solutions that meet client needs.
• Track sales activity, report on leads, conversions and revenue.
• Represent VSS at meetings, networking events and industry engagements.
• Support client retention, repeat business and long‑term partnerships.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and market‑research abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Kiswahili.
• Proven track record of generating leads, building relationships and meeting sales targets.
• Proactive, organised and results‑oriented mindset.
• Relevant experience in business development, sales, marketing or account management; media or events experience is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively with creative, production and technical teams.
• Diploma or degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field is advantageous.
