Accountant – Manufacturing (Dar es Salaam)

About the role

Our client, a manufacturing company in Dar es Salaam, is seeking a diligent Accountant to manage financial data, payroll, tax compliance and operational reporting. The role requires accuracy, the ability to handle multiple deadlines and a solid understanding of accounting and regulatory practices.

Key responsibilities

• Process cash withdrawals, disbursements and prepare payroll for local and expatriate staff.
• Manage petty cash, maintain accurate financial records and produce regular reports.
• File monthly, half‑yearly and annual tax returns (PAYE, SDL, VAT, NSSF) and respond to tax authority queries.
• Coordinate with auditors and ensure statutory compliance.
• Support HR functions: recruit staff, prepare contracts, register employees (NSSF, PAYE, WCF) and handle labor disputes.
• Administer business visas, work permits and insurance policies for expatriate employees.
• Oversee inventory for production: issue goods, post production orders, conduct stock counts and monitor consumables.
• Track internal stock transfers and supervise facility and machinery maintenance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of experience in accounting, finance or operations within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to work with large data sets and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.

• Computer skills for accounting and reporting.
