Head of Finance

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Finance leader to join our team in Dar es Salaam. The Head of Finance will coordinate financial support services across the region, ensuring compliance with local legislation and company policies while driving business strategy and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit the region's annual budget on time, aligning with defined guidelines and principles.
• Enforce budgetary control procedures to keep expenditure within approved levels.
• Produce accurate monthly forecasts to proactively manage business risks.
• Process decentralized accounting transactions using the G4S ERP system.
• Maintain detailed records with supporting source documentation.
• Manage regional Accounts Receivable, applying credit control measures to maximize cash flow.
• Analyze monthly accounts, compare performance against budgets, identify trends and variances, and provide management information.
• Drive and implement cost‑saving initiatives across the business.
• Coordinate litigation, insurance, and related claims.
• Lead finance department personnel through performance assessments and career development planning.
• Participate in health, safety, and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to statutory, tax and regulatory obligations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management or Accounting; postgraduate degree advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years senior management experience in accounting or finance.
• In‑depth knowledge of Tanzanian company law and local tax regulations.
• Familiarity with security industry legislation and G4S finance policies is a strong advantage.
