Credit and Collections Manager

About the role

The Credit and Collections Manager will provide day‑to‑day financial oversight of credit and collection processes supporting JTI’s nationwide sales operations across 16 branch locations in Tanzania. Reporting to the Finance Director, the role ensures compliance with company policies, manages risk exposure, and drives continuous improvement in the Order‑to‑Cash cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain customer master data, conduct due diligence, manage KYC certification, and handle account changes and exceptions.
• Set and monitor credit limits in line with approved policies, obtain necessary approvals, and produce KPI and management reports.
• Oversee collections, receivables aging, overdue escalations, route settlements, and reconciliations, coordinating with Legal and external debt collectors when needed.
• Optimize TME system controls, use analytics and AI tools to detect anomalies, improve controls, and automate reporting.
• Ensure timely execution of O2C JSOX controls, maintain credit and branch accounting policies, and establish governance and escalation protocols.
• Lead, develop, and motivate direct and indirect teams, promote segregation of duties, and collaborate with Branch, GBS, and HQ teams, including travel to branch locations.

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related field.
• CPA qualification highly desirable.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in FMCG and/or banking in a managerial role.
• Proven experience leading large teams.
• Fluent in English and Swahili.
• High integrity, strong compliance mindset, and willingness to challenge the status quo.
• Strong drive for organizational change and continuous improvement.
