Assistant Internal Auditor

About the role

The Assistant Internal Auditor will support the Group Internal Auditor in delivering a robust internal audit function for a fast‑growing multinational group based in Dar es Salaam. This role provides assurance over financial, operational and compliance processes while contributing to risk management and control improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate periodic enterprise and process‑based risk assessments, identify risks and control gaps, and update audit plans accordingly.
• Attend management meetings and committees to stay informed on business matters and challenge risk identification and remediation.
• Develop and execute dynamic, risk‑based audit plans, conduct interviews, walkthroughs, and audit procedures to evaluate operational efficiency.
• Prepare detailed work‑papers, audit reports and practical recommendations, and follow up on the implementation of audit findings.
• Conduct forensic audits and investigations of fraud, losses, irregularities, and ensure compliance with professional standards and legal requirements.
• Perform full inspections, spot checks and audits of branches and departments at least once per financial year.
