Accountant – Office Finance Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a competent Office Accountant to join our team in Dar es Salaam. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting strategic financial planning.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain books of accounts, financial statements and management reports.
• Develop, monitor and report on budgets, cash‑flow projections and expenditure.
• Manage invoicing, collections, bank reconciliations and supplier payments.
• Process payroll and ensure timely statutory deductions.
• Ensure compliance with Tanzanian tax laws and all statutory reporting requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and implement recommendations.
• Maintain fixed‑asset registers, inventory records and internal control systems.
• Support procurement through financial verification and budget control.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• CPA qualification or equivalent professional accounting certification.
• 3‑5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax laws, budgeting and payroll processing.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software (Peak, Tally or similar).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Good command of Microsoft Office Suite.
