Accountant – Mining Industry (Dar es Salaam)

About the role

Shugulika Africa Limited is seeking an experienced Accountant to support its mining client in Dar es Salaam. The role is full-time and involves managing the complete accounting cycle, ensuring statutory compliance and supporting audit processes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books of accounts, record and reconcile sales, purchases, expenses and bank transactions.
• Prepare and file statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, SDL, WHT) in line with Tanzanian Revenue Authority regulations.
• Monitor stock accounting, reconcile physical inventory, and assist with cost tracking for imports and landed cost allocation.
• Manage supplier payments, customer invoicing, receivables follow-up and ageing reports.
• Support audit preparations and ensure documentation is verified and up-to-date.
• Enter and maintain accounting data using Tally or other accounting software.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or ACCA is a plus.
• 8–10 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Strong analytical, numerical and organizational abilities with high attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Tally accounting software.
• In-depth knowledge of Tanzanian tax and statutory requirements.
