Registration Clerk (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Registration Clerk ensures a smooth intake process for patients arriving at the hospital. Working at the front desk, the clerk registers new patients in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, verifies insurance, collects co‑pays and maintains accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Register and check‑in patients upon arrival, ensuring a courteous and efficient intake.
• Enter new patient information accurately into the hospital EMR system.
• Collect co‑pays, post payments to patient accounts, and issue receipts.
• Verify insurance coverage, obtain authorizations, and assemble patient information packets.
• Scan and file registration documents in the EMR system.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the registration area.
• Perform daily reporting within the EMR system.
• Assist with any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• High school diploma.
• At least one year of experience in hospital or outpatient billing, insurance verification, collections, payment posting, or front‑office duties.
• Ability to lift 20 lb regularly and stand or walk for up to five hours per day.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow compliance standards.
