Procurement & Logistics Manager – Dar es Salaam

About the role

The Procurement and Logistics Manager leads procurement and logistics functions across donor‑funded health and development programmes. The role ensures efficient, compliant and cost‑effective operations in line with organisational policies, Tanzanian regulations and US Government funding requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee procurement of office services, goods, equipment and supplies for the Dar es Salaam office, sub‑offices and central procurement items for sub‑grants, ensuring donor approvals and compliance with USG and Tanzanian regulations.
• Maintain vendor contracts for services such as leases, telecommunications, vehicle insurance, maintenance and fuel, and manage disposal of property in line with EGPAF, GOT and USG rules.
• Provide logistical support to programmes, obtain VAT exemptions, ensure accurate inventory reporting and coordinate property managers across offices.
• Liaise with field P&L staff to implement standard policies, conduct field visits for capacity building and ensure proper documentation of procurement files.
• Provide technical supervision to the regional procurement and logistics team and prepare MIS reports for the Director of Operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Active PSPTB registration; CIPS or equivalent certification is an advantage.
• Minimum 7 years progressive procurement and logistics experience, including at least 3 years in a management role.
• Experience supporting USG‑funded projects (DOS, CDC, PEPFAR) and strong knowledge of Tanzanian procurement, importation and statutory compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain audit‑ready procurement and logistics systems.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
