About the role
The Head of Sales for the Metals Division will steer national sales activities across Tanzania, covering wire products, roofing sheets, hollow steel tubes and structural components. Reporting directly to senior management, this leader will shape strategy, drive growth and ensure the business meets its profitability targets.
Key responsibilities
- Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans for all product lines and regions.
- Lead, mentor and supervise a geographically dispersed national sales team.
- Identify and secure new business with dealers, institutions, contractors, NGOs and government bodies.
- Manage public‑sector procurement, tender identification and PPRA/e‑procurement submissions.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer needs to refine strategies.
- Coordinate with production, logistics and marketing to align supply, pricing and promotions.
- Train branch sales teams and ensure comprehensive coverage of urban and rural markets.
- Drive collections in partnership with accounts to maintain credit discipline.
- Maintain CRM records, prepare sales reports and present performance updates.
- Represent the company at industry forums, exhibitions and stakeholder meetings.
Required profile
- Proven track record leading national sales operations in the metals industry.
- Experience managing large, dispersed sales teams and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Strong understanding of institutional sales and public‑sector procurement processes.
- Strategic, analytical mindset with results‑driven leadership style.
