About the role
This graduate trainee position supports customs and transit operations, ensuring accurate processing of taxes, wharfage, and related documentation. The role requires close interaction with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to meet strict deadlines and avoid financial penalties.
Key responsibilities
- Process fuel taxes, manifest comparisons, and wharfage payments on time to prevent penalties.
- Prepare monthly tax forecasts, assess taxes, and ensure compliance with customs procedures.
- Receive and review loading nominations, verify consignee details, and coordinate with customer services.
- Generate weekly transit product age reports and request extensions to avoid product localization.
- Coordinate transit loading documentation, monitor border validation, and manage bond cancellations.
- Handle customs queries, audit transit documents, and support stock reconciliations.
- Prepare and file Notices of Intention (NOI) for products received at depots.
- Assist hospitality and supply teams with related duties as needed.
Required profile
- Recent graduate with strong attention to detail and concentration.
- Ability to work under strict deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
- Good communication skills for interaction with suppliers, customers, and internal staff.
