Application Administrator

About the role

The Application Administrator will manage the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of all application systems for Absa Bank Tanzania. This role ensures that platform technology remains reliable and aligned with business processes, supporting the bank’s growth and operational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain application availability and reliability to meet service targets.
• Provide regular application availability reporting and monitor performance metrics.
• Facilitate delivery of business‑required report changes and ensure their availability.
• Coordinate and execute changes to applications, acting as a central point of contact.
• Identify and reduce the frequency and duration of incidents affecting application availability.
• Implement corrective actions and work with line management to improve availability levels.
• Ensure backup policies and standards are adhered to, documenting processes and performing regular restoration testing.
• Perform backups of all applications and software, secure certificates, and continuously assess backup processes for improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing application availability and reliability.
• Strong understanding of backup policies, standards, and restoration testing.
• Ability to coordinate application changes and work with internal customers and technology vendors.
• Analytical mindset to monitor performance metrics and drive incident reduction.
