IT Assistant (Volunteer)

About the role

The World Food Programme is seeking a motivated IT Assistant to provide first‑line technical support on a volunteer basis. You will help ensure that staff across the organization can effectively use IT and telecommunications tools to deliver food assistance to beneficiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Record, classify and track all IT support requests and incidents using the ticketing system.
• Provide first‑line troubleshooting for PCs, printers, Wi‑Fi, Office 365 and Microsoft Teams.
• Support conference‑room setups, including Teams video‑conferencing.
• Assist with onboarding and off‑boarding of staff, including equipment installation and configuration.
• Help resolve network issues such as LAN, Wi‑Fi and VPN connectivity.
• Offer remote technical assistance to sites in Kigoma, Arusha and other locations.

Required profile

• Strong interest in humanitarian work and willingness to volunteer time.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with staff at all levels.
• Basic understanding of IT support processes and ticket handling.
