Site Supervisor / Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Site Supervisor/Manager to lead the on‑site execution of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Tanzania. The role involves coordinating installation, commissioning and handover while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, security, social and environmental compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all on‑site installation, commissioning and handover activities.
• Supervise site teams, subcontractors and daily construction tasks.
• Manage daily planning and weekly look‑ahead schedules.
• Develop and implement Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
• Ensure full compliance with HSE requirements, site procedures and applicable regulations.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings and hazard hunts.
• Manage site access, permits to work and PPE compliance.
• Investigate incidents, near misses and non‑conformities and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor quality and progress against approved procedures and project requirements.
• Provide accurate daily and weekly progress, safety and issue reports to the Project Manager.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Site Manager or Supervisor on industrial, construction or energy projects.
• Strong HSE/Safety management background; NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent preferred.
• Good knowledge of electrical and mechanical installation activities.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multicultural site teams.
• Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
• Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.
