M&E Intern – Breast Cancer Project (Zanzibar)

About the role
Jhpiego is looking for a motivated Medical Doctor (or equivalent) to join the BEAT Breast Cancer Project in Zanzibar as an M&E Intern. You will support data‑driven decision‑making by assisting with data collection, analysis and reporting for breast cancer screening and patient navigation services.
Key responsibilities
- Collect, enter, clean, analyse and report data on breast cancer screening, diagnosis and patient navigation.
- Assist Integrated Reproductive and Child Health (IRCH) facilities and District Health Management Teams (DHMTs) to ensure data quality and timely reporting.
- Conduct data verification visits and routine monitoring to improve data accuracy and completeness.
- Support healthcare providers in proper documentation and use of data collection tools.
- Track and follow‑up confirmed breast cancer patients to ensure continuity of care.
- Prepare project reports, presentations and data summaries.
- Maintain digital health information systems and databases used by the project.
Required profile
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with experience in biostatistics, public health or M&E.
- At least 1 year of experience in health program monitoring and evaluation.
- Willingness to travel to health facilities and outreach sites across Unguja and Pemba islands.
- Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills.
