M-Pesa IMT Manager

About the role

The Manager, IMT and Cross‑Border Payments will lead the growth, profitability and operational excellence of Vodacom M‑Pesa’s international remittance and payment services. You will shape strategy, manage key partnerships and ensure a seamless customer experience across inbound and outbound payment journeys.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a cross‑border payments growth strategy aligned with M‑Pesa’s financial services objectives.
• Identify new revenue opportunities across remittances, wallet transfers, merchant payments and emerging corridors.
• Ensure smooth end‑to‑end operation of cross‑border payment services, monitoring transaction success rates and service availability.
• Enforce KYC, AML/CFT, CDD and EDD policies, assess and mitigate operational, financial, fraud and regulatory risks.
• Onboard and manage relationships with International Money Transfer Operators, payment hubs and banking partners.
• Verify and reconcile daily transactions, manage partner accounts and prepare regular management reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Banking or a related field.
• Strong knowledge and experience with cross‑border payments operations.
• Good understanding of operational risk, KYC and AML/CFT in the mobile‑money/remittance sector.
• High responsibility, integrity and an open, fact‑based approach.
• Ability to translate commercial objectives into technical requirements for delivery teams.
