Country Manager – Tanzania

About the role

Kitu Kali, a fast‑growing African lifestyle brand, is seeking a dynamic Country Manager to launch and grow its presence in Tanzania. Based in Zanzibar or Dar es Salaam, you will lead both retail and B2B operations, shaping the brand’s footprint from the islands to the mainland.

Key responsibilities

• Open and manage Kitu Kali retail store(s) in Zanzibar, delivering a premium in‑store experience aligned with brand standards.
• Identify, pitch, and close wholesale and uniform supply contracts with hotels, lodges, tour operators, and boutique stockists across Tanzania.
• Maintain and grow client relationships, serving as the primary contact for reorders, feedback, and account expansion.
• Travel regularly to client sites—including Zanzibar, Serengeti, Arusha and other locations—to nurture relationships and secure new business.
• Report to Kitu Kali leadership in Nairobi and contribute to the overall Tanzania growth strategy.

Required profile

• 3–6+ years of experience in sales, retail, or operations, preferably within tourism, hospitality, or lifestyle apparel.
• Existing network of contacts in Tanzanian hotels, lodges, or tourism‑related businesses is a strong advantage.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and cover a wide geographic area.
• Fluent in English and Swahili with excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Willingness to relocate to Zanzibar or Dar es Salaam if not already based there.
• Passion for African design, culture, and brand development.
