About the role
Palmpay, a fast‑growing Pan‑African fintech, is looking for a proactive Compliance Specialist to ensure the company meets all applicable laws, regulations and internal policies. You will act as the bridge between regulatory requirements and day‑to‑day operations, helping the business stay compliant while supporting its expansion across Africa.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret relevant laws, regulations and industry standards.
- Align company policies and procedures with regulatory requirements and submit required reports.
- Identify compliance risks, maintain risk registers and propose mitigation strategies.
- Conduct internal audits, investigations and track corrective actions.
- Draft, update and implement compliance policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to embed compliance into daily workflows.
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs for employees.
- Maintain documentation, report issues to senior management and communicate regulatory updates.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in compliance, risk management or auditing within fintech or banking.
- Professional certifications such as CCEP or CRCM are preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Must be a Tanzanian national.
