Agribusiness Cash Crops Relationship Manager

About the role

The RM Agribusiness Cash Crops Specialist will develop, manage and grow Equity Bank Tanzania’s agribusiness portfolio within selected cash‑crop value chains, providing relationship management and technical support to farmers, cooperatives, aggregators, processors and other value‑chain actors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage strategic relationships with cash‑crop farmers, groups, cooperatives, aggregators, processors, off‑takers, exporters and input suppliers.
• Map and analyse cash‑crop value chains to identify commercially viable financing opportunities and associated risks.
• Originate and assess agricultural loan applications, prepare credit proposals and ensure compliance with the bank’s credit, KYC and AML policies.
• Drive deposit mobilisation and promote transaction‑banking, digital payments and insurance solutions for agribusiness customers.
• Organise farmer and agribusiness sensitisation forums on financial literacy, good agricultural practices and climate‑smart techniques.
• Identify and develop strategic partnerships with government agencies, development partners, NGOs and commodity associations to unlock blended‑finance and guarantee opportunities.

Required profile

• Minimum 3–7 years of experience in cash‑crop financing, agribusiness, agricultural finance, commercial banking or related fields.
• Strong understanding of agronomic principles, commercial agricultural production and value‑chain dynamics.

Required skills

• Relationship management and customer acquisition within agricultural value chains.
• Credit analysis, portfolio monitoring and risk mitigation.
• Design of structured agricultural financing models aligned with crop cycles.
• Knowledge of cash‑crop market dynamics, pricing and export processes.
