XRay Technician / C‑Arm Tech (PRN)

About the role

The XRay Technician / C‑Arm Tech (PRN) provides on‑demand diagnostic imaging services, ensuring accurate image acquisition while maintaining patient safety and comfort. This position works closely with physicians and radiology staff to deliver high‑quality X‑ray and C‑arm procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Review and interpret physician orders for diagnostic X‑ray procedures.
• Verify patient identification and obtain relevant medical history.
• Prepare and operate imaging equipment, ensuring proper technical factors and safety protocols.
• Explain procedures to patients, manage anxiety, and ensure comfort.
• Maintain infection‑control standards and adhere to radiation‑safety guidelines.
• Critique image quality and participate in quality‑assurance programs.
• Utilize RIS and PACS systems for order entry, image storage, and billing.
• Assist with on‑call coverage as needed.

Required profile

• Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in good standing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to lift/carry and push/pull over 50 lb and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks promptly.

Required skills

• ARRT‑registered radiologic technologist.

• Collimation and patient positioning techniques.
• Radiation safety practices.
• Operation of RIS and PACS imaging systems.
• Use of imaging support equipment such as printers.
