TVET Expert – Technical and Vocational Education Specialist

About the role

The TVET Expert will support Enabel’s new Country Portfolio in Tanzania, focusing on empowering girls and young women (14‑29) in the Kigoma region. The role combines technical expertise in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) with a gender‑focused approach to improve access to education, skills development, and decent green employment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance for secondary education programmes targeting vulnerable youth, especially girls.
• Design and oversee skills‑development and entrepreneurship interventions to increase decent work opportunities for young women.
• Support the creation of a protective, gender‑equal environment by addressing discriminatory norms and barriers.
• Coordinate with Enabel project teams, local partners, and donors to ensure alignment with the 2023‑2027 integrated approach.
• Monitor and evaluate programme outcomes, reporting on progress toward the defined results areas.

Required profile

• Proven experience in technical and vocational education and training, preferably in East Africa.
• Demonstrated understanding of gender‑focused youth empowerment and community‑based interventions.
• Ability to work in a multicultural, multi‑partner environment and manage project components.
