Tree Supervisor – Fixed-term (Tanzania)

About the role

The Tanzania Tree Supervisor will lead the implementation of One Acre Fund’s tree‑seedling program, supporting smallholder farmers to plant and maintain fruit trees on their farms. This fixed‑term position works closely with field teams across Iringa, Mbeya, Njombe and Moshi to ensure high‑quality tree distribution and farmer adoption.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the procurement, storage, and distribution of tree seedlings to farmers.
• Supervise field officers and monitor planting activities to meet program targets.
• Provide technical guidance to farmers on tree planting, care, and maintenance.
• Collect and analyse data on tree survival rates and report progress to program managers.
• Identify challenges in the field and propose corrective actions.

Required profile

• Experience working in agricultural or horticultural projects, preferably with smallholder farmers.
• Strong understanding of tree‑seedling production, planting techniques, and post‑planting care.
• Ability to travel frequently across the southern highlands and northern regions of Tanzania.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
