Senior Supervisor – Underground Mining Services & Construction

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti is seeking a Senior Supervisor to lead underground mining services and construction activities at the Geita Gold Mine in Tanzania. The role ensures that drilling, blasting, ground support, haulage and related operations are performed safely, efficiently and in line with production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse production data and prepare regular mine performance reports.
• Coordinate with other departments to maintain safe and efficient underground operations.
• Identify production issues, propose corrective actions and monitor implementation.
• Complete safety leading indicators and critical‑control verifications for major hazards.
• Manage incident reporting, investigation and follow‑up according to GGM procedures.
• Support planning of daily, weekly and monthly production targets for development meters, production meters and ore tonnage.
• Prepare work rosters, manage annual leave and ensure adequate manpower.
• Oversee training effectiveness and allocate newly trained operators to machines.
• Attend production and safety meetings, lead safety‑stoppage discussions and track action items.
• Liaise with contractors, ensuring their activities are synchronized with mine operations.
• Report crew performance and behaviour to the Superintendent of Mining Services and Construction.

Required profile

• Proven supervisory experience in underground mining environments.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret production data.
• Solid understanding of underground safety standards and incident management.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills across multiple departments and contractors.
• Ability to lead teams, mentor operators and drive continuous improvement.
