Senior IP Engineer

About the role

Huawei Tanzania is looking for a highly skilled Senior IP Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of large‑scale IP networks. The role involves translating customer requirements into robust, executable solutions and guiding project teams to successful delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design and architect IP networks, including projects with more than 100 network elements.
• Lead requirement clarification sessions with customers and produce detailed, executable network solutions.
• Rapidly identify, locate, and resolve complex network issues across MPLS, SRv6, IPv6, BGP, and IGP environments.
• Serve as project team lead, managing timelines, resources, and delivery quality for medium‑ and large‑scale projects.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration of access, data‑center, and enterprise networks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience as a network engineer, preferably on medium‑ to large‑size projects.
• Professional certifications such as HCIE, HCIP, or CCIE are highly desirable.
• Experience with access networks, data‑center networks, or enterprise projects is a plus.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of core IP routing protocols: MPLS, SRv6, IPv6, BGP, OSPF, IS‑IS.
• Proficiency in various VPN technologies.
• Strong network design and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Ability to lead project teams and manage delivery plans.
