Senior Grants Manager

About the role

The Senior Grants Manager will lead the management of grants and sub‑grants for EGPAF’s programs in Tanzania, ensuring compliance with donor, US Government and Tanzanian regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on grant and sub‑agreement policies, train staff and sub‑recipients, and develop tracking systems for compliance.
• Oversee the full sub‑award lifecycle – from pre‑award assessment, negotiation and award issuance to monitoring, risk assessment, reporting and close‑out.
• Coordinate budget monitoring, cash‑request processes and audit planning for sub‑recipients.
• Liaise with field C&G staff, conduct trainings and field visits to build capacity and ensure consistent implementation of grant policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Health or related field; Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive grants management experience, including oversight of large USAID/CDC/PEPFAR awards.
• Demonstrated knowledge of USG rules, donor compliance, budgeting, financial monitoring and audit support.
• Strong leadership, analytical and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using grant management information systems (e.g., CGIS).
