Relationship Manager – Financial & Non‑Banking Institutions

About the role

The Relationship Manager will support the Global Corporates and Financial Institutions (FI) leadership teams in Tanzania, driving business development with both new and existing international FIG clients. Acting as a bridge between global bankers and local product teams, the role ensures the delivery of appropriate solutions while maintaining healthy client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with Global Corporates Head and country product teams to identify and develop FIG opportunities.
• Assist in acquiring new international FI clients and deepening relationships with existing ones.
• Align local client solutions with global FIG bankers and leverage Absa Group differentiators.
• Manage the deal pipeline, escalating challenges and supporting successful closures.
• Provide analytical insights on client behaviour, product usage, and growth opportunities.
• Collaborate with relationship directors, sector heads, and African corporate bankers to maximise revenue.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of global financial institution client needs and behaviour.
• Experience in coordinating cross‑border banking relationships and delivering client‑centric solutions.
• Ability to analyse client data, identify revenue opportunities, and support strategic pitches.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across multiple regions.
