Relationship Manager – Business Development

About the role

The Relationship Manager – Business Development leads the branch’s business development unit, supervising staff and driving growth across deposits, loans, and non‑fee income. The role focuses on expanding the customer base, improving loan quality, and cross‑selling a wide range of bank products in line with key performance indicators.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and negotiate new business opportunities to meet annual targets and bank strategy.
• Develop and implement an annual business and sales plan that supports branch and corporate objectives.
• Drive growth of CASA deposits, aiming for 70% of total branch deposits.
• Expand a high‑quality loan portfolio across all customer segments while maintaining target NPL ratios.
• Recruit and manage Equity Agents, Super Agents, and merchants to increase transaction volumes.
• Promote onboarding of customers onto digital platforms to boost NFIs and reduce branch traffic.
• Cross‑sell trade finance, insurance, and other products to achieve at least eight products per customer.
• Supervise Relationship Officers, ensuring compliance with KYC, AML, and internal policies.
• Provide regular reports and recommendations to senior management and coordinate with the Commercial Department and Head Office.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of banking experience, preferably in trade finance, project finance, export development, or asset financing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., Certified Financial Planner, Credit Analyst) are a plus.
• Strong understanding of banking regulations, KYC, AML, and credit risk management.
• Proven track record in portfolio management, business development, and client acquisition.
