Personal & Private Banking Support Intern

About the role

The Personal & Private Banking Support Intern will sell Absa Bank’s personal and private banking products over the telephone, driving acquisition, cross‑sell, reactivation and retention. You will manage a portfolio of customers across multiple branches and support the onboarding lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Open and maintain accounts, achieving weekly call and sales targets while ensuring product knowledge and compliance.
• Manage dormant and inactive accounts, reactivate zero‑balance accounts and follow up leads with branches.
• Prepare daily performance reports, monitor product portfolio performance and resolve customer queries.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Operations, Credit, Insurance Partners and Sales Teams to ensure smooth execution.
• Adhere to risk and control frameworks, report incidents and support continuous improvement of processes.

Required profile

• Graduate with a business university degree, preferably in finance or accounting.
• Experience or understanding of the financial services environment.
• Knowledge of accounting is an advantage.
• Certificate of Proficiency (COP) holder is an advantage.
• Strong communication, questioning and numeracy skills.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills.
• Fluency in English and Swahili.
