Partnership Coordinator – Tanzania

About the role

Blue Ventures is seeking a Partnership Coordinator to strengthen and expand its Partner Network from the Tanzania hub. You will work closely with civil society and NGOs to advance community‑based fisheries management and locally managed marine areas across coastal Tanzania.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, assess and onboard new partner organisations aligned with Blue Ventures’ mission.
• Develop multi‑year support agreements, including funding, technical assistance and capacity‑building plans.
• Maintain ongoing relationships with existing partners, monitoring progress and facilitating peer learning.
• Coordinate partnership activities across time zones, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.
• Travel regularly to remote coastal communities to support partnership implementation and gather field insights.

Required profile

• 3‑4 years of experience working with rural communities, small‑scale fisheries or community‑based conservation in Tanzania.
• Proven ability to build and sustain effective partnerships with NGOs and civil‑society groups.
• Highly organised, proactive and comfortable working both independently and within a collaborative team.
• Willingness to travel frequently, including to remote coastal locations.

Required skills

• Strong relationship‑building and stakeholder‑engagement capabilities.
• Experience drafting partnership agreements and managing multi‑year projects.
• Excellent communication skills in English (and preferably Swahili).
