Part-time Data Collector – Field Surveys (Multiple Districts)

About the role

Raising The Village is seeking part‑time data collectors to support field surveys across several districts in Tanzania. You will work under the Venn department’s supervision to gather high‑quality data that informs programme design and impact assessment.

Key responsibilities

• Attend comprehensive training on evaluation procedures and digital data collection tools.
• Pre‑test survey tools to ensure reliability before deployment.
• Obtain informed consent from local leaders and participants.
• Conduct interviews and surveys according to established guidelines.
• Follow the work plan, meeting daily and overall targets.
• Verify that all collected data is accurate, complete and cleaned before submission.
• Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of respondent information.
• Care for assigned tablets, chargers, power banks and other equipment.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the RTV Venn team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in any field (preferred residence in the listed districts).
• 1‑2 years of experience in data collection or research methods.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving targets.
• Physical capacity to travel extensively and work in remote, hard‑to‑reach areas.
• Fluency in Kiswahili; good working knowledge of English; local languages (Kihaya/Kinyambo) an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with digital data collection platforms such as SurveyCTO.
• Experience with Survey123 for field surveys.
