Packaging Operator-2

About the role

The Packaging Operator-2 is responsible for safely operating, monitoring and maintaining designated packaging equipment to meet world‑class standards in safety, quality, productivity and asset reliability. You will work on a shift basis, following the production plan and ensuring optimal process performance while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Operate manual and automated packaging equipment in line with VPO standards and safety procedures.
• Monitor production processes, record deviations and take corrective actions to meet shift targets.
• Analyse equipment performance, identify losses or downtime and drive improvements to enhance reliability.
• Perform routine equipment care, basic inspections, cleaning, lubrication and raise spare‑part requests via SAP.
• Complete required workstation administration, production records and digital reporting using tablets and manufacturing systems.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and manage time with minimal supervision.
• Analytical mindset with experience in root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving tools.
• Willingness to continuously develop technical and leadership capabilities.

Required skills

• Packaging equipment operation and process control.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with SAP for maintenance and spare‑part requests.
• Understanding of VPO principles and continuous‑improvement methodologies.
• Root‑cause analysis techniques (5 Why, Fishbone).
• Digital literacy with tablets, laptops and manufacturing systems.
