Operations Manager – Fuel (Tanzania)

About the role

The Operations Manager – Fuel will lead depot and fuel supply activities in Tanzania, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant handling of petroleum products. The role coordinates logistics, maintenance, HSE and commercial functions to guarantee uninterrupted fuel availability.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and monitor daily to annual operational activities across depot, logistics, transportation, maintenance and procurement.
• Oversee fuel receipt, storage, stock control, loading, dispatch and product reconciliation, ensuring quality and traceability.
• Coordinate fuel transportation schedules, vehicle compliance, driver HSSE standards and delivery performance.
• Manage preventive maintenance programmes, asset reliability and spare‑part availability for critical equipment.
• Enforce HSE, security and regulatory compliance, conduct inspections and lead incident investigations.
• Prepare and control operational budgets, monitor costs and produce regular performance reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing fuel depot or oil‑and‑gas operations, including logistics and asset management.
• Strong knowledge of HSE policies, petroleum regulations and safety procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage contractors and drive continuous improvement.
