Operations Lead

About the role

The Operations Lead for Tanzania will oversee all fleet and border operations across both company‑owned and subcontracted assets. Reporting to senior management, this senior position ensures safe, timely, and compliant execution of trips while driving efficiency and strategic growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all Tanzanian operations, guaranteeing safe, on‑time and regulatory‑compliant trips for both owned and subcontracted fleets.
• Take full accountability for operational delivery, incident response and escalation of critical issues.
• Recruit, mentor and develop the local operations team, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders—including top management, commercial teams, clients, subcontractors and government authorities—to align operations with strategic objectives.
• Analyse operational data to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements that boost resource utilisation, speed and accuracy.
• Maintain full compliance with licensing, regulatory and procedural requirements, ensuring robust governance and reporting.
• Drive optimisation initiatives to expand capacity, improve processes and maximise fleet performance.
• Uphold high standards of operational integrity, safety and risk management.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in logistics, transport or fleet management.
• Proven ability to lead large, diverse teams and manage complex operational environments.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills, with a track record of delivering measurable improvements.
• Excellent stakeholder management, capable of influencing senior executives, clients and government bodies.
