IT Director – Strategic Technology Leader (Russian speaker)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT Director to design and lead the creation of a comprehensive digital ecosystem for a fast‑growing agribusiness operating across East Africa. This strategic position combines high‑level vision with hands‑on execution to build a scalable technology platform that supports remote production sites and diverse agricultural operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the overall IT architecture strategy for the organization.
• Lead ERP development and integrate multiple business systems into a unified digital ecosystem.
• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise data storage, governance, and utilization frameworks.
• Build and maintain IT and communications infrastructure across remote production sites.
• Implement GPS tracking solutions for machinery and transportation fleets.
• Integrate weather stations, sensors, and IoT devices into operational workflows.
• Deploy access control and facial recognition systems.
• Establish systems for fuel, materials, inventory, warehouse, and equipment management.
• Develop real‑time production monitoring and analytics capabilities.
• Integrate operational and performance metrics across business units.
• Lead digitalisation of production processes, quality control, and business intelligence reporting for executive leadership.
• Build and grow the IT function, managing internal teams, external vendors, consultants, and technology partners.
• Define IT governance, operational procedures, and service standards while advising senior management on digital transformation.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and executing enterprise‑wide technology strategies.
• Strong background in building scalable digital platforms for remote or challenging environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage multiple technology partners.
• Strategic thinker with a hands‑on approach to implementation.
