HME Maintenance Trainer

About the role

The Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is looking for an experienced HME Maintenance Trainer to develop and deliver training on heavy equipment systems. Reporting to the HME Trainer, you will ensure that mechanics and trainees acquire the skills needed to maintain mining equipment safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver training programs covering engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems of heavy equipment.
• Provide hands‑on coaching and mentorship to junior mechanics and trainees.
• Conduct safety training in line with OSHA and mine‑specific regulations.
• Create, update, and maintain training curricula and documentation.
• Assess trainee proficiency through tests and performance evaluations.
• Maintain accurate repair logs, maintenance records, and equipment performance metrics.
• Stay current with industry advancements, manufacturer guidelines, and automation technologies.

Required profile

• Heavy Diesel Fitter Trade Test certification.
• Extensive knowledge of Sandvik UG Trackless Mining Equipment.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working on mechanized mining equipment.
• Experience with automation of underground mechanized mining equipment.
• Proven ability to implement preventative maintenance regimes and prioritize repairs to minimise downtime.
