Head of Sales – Metals Division (Tanzania)

About the role

The Sales Head will lead the Metals division across Tanzania, shaping strategy, driving revenue, and expanding market share for a broad portfolio that includes wire products, roofing sheets, and HRC steel tubes.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets for all product lines.
• Develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with company goals.
• Lead, mentor and supervise the national sales team to ensure optimal performance and market coverage.
• Identify and secure new business with dealers, institutions, contractors, NGOs and government bodies.
• Manage public‑sector procurement, tender identification, submission and compliance with PPRA/e‑procurement systems.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer needs to refine sales tactics.
• Coordinate with production, logistics and marketing to align supply, pricing and promotions.
• Train and support branch sales teams, ensuring strong brand positioning in urban and rural markets.
• Drive collections, enforce credit discipline and maintain accurate CRM records.
• Represent the company at industry forums, exhibitions and stakeholder meetings.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years progressive sales and marketing leadership experience in East African industrial or manufacturing sectors.
• Proven track record of revenue growth and market expansion.
• Strong strategic mindset with experience managing complex distribution networks.
• Ability to build and lead high‑performing teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems.
• Familiarity with e‑procurement and public‑sector tender processes.
