About the role
CVPeople Tanzania is looking for a detail‑oriented Grant Accountant to manage grant budgeting, financial reporting, SAP system administration, and compliance for a non‑profit client in Dar es Salaam. The role ensures accurate financial data, supports project lifecycles, and contributes to transparent donor reporting.
Key responsibilities
- Enter and maintain grant data in SAP, monitor project setups, and generate timely monitoring reports.
- Collaborate with the Head of Finance on new grant proposals, ensuring full costing and alignment with annual budgets.
- Prepare donor financial reports, Budget vs. Actuals, Cost Centre, and Commitment reports, and verify income receipt.
- Analyze cost recovery for shared costs, advise on fair administrative cost allocation, and raise cost‑recovery awareness.
- Support project start‑ups and closures, participate in compliance meetings, and provide documentation for internal and external audits.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 + years of experience in grant accounting, project financial management, or financial reporting within non‑profit/charitable organizations.
- Hands‑on experience with ERP systems, specifically SAP, for data entry, mapping, and commitment tracking.
- Strong understanding of donor compliance, cost recovery models, BvA analysis, and audit preparation.
