Graduate Trainee – Information Systems

About the role

This Graduate Trainee position in Information Systems offers a hands‑on entry‑level opportunity to support and maintain IT infrastructure within a dynamic environment. You will work closely with staff and suppliers to ensure reliable operation of hardware, software, and network services.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems and applications.
• Monitor and maintain servers, power‑backup systems and network equipment.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software faults, replace components and liaise with suppliers for rapid resolution.
• Provide first‑line support to staff via phone or face‑to‑face, creating procedural documentation and reports.
• Support roll‑out of new systems and applications, set up user accounts, manage passwords and handle access requests.
• Prioritise and manage multiple support tickets, ensuring timely resolution or escalation.
• Maintain inventory of hardware and software assets and keep technical documentation up to date.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure service level agreements are met.

Required profile

• BSc in IT, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software and Cisco networking technologies.
• Ability to work under pressure, with limited resources and multiple supervisors.
• Good communication skills for interacting with users, developers and suppliers.
